Website Marketing and Development Plan
Project Role: Sole Proprietor & Web Designer/Developer
Business Focus: Beauty Services (Brows, Lashes, Permanent Makeup)
Client Interaction Log: Throughout the development process of this website, I held multiple self-directed consultations to establish project direction and implementation. On April 5, 2025, I conducted an initial self-consultation to define mobile optimization priorities and plan the integration of services. By April 15, I finalized the website structure, including the Homepage, About, Services, Testimonials, Booking, and Contact pages. On April 28, I explored SEO best practices and proposed the addition of a future blog section. On May 2, I evaluated the website’s user experience (UX), particularly on mobile devices, and developed a long-term plan for site maintenance.
Website Objectives: The primary goal of this website is to serve as a centralized digital hub for Kaylee Rodriguez's beauty business. It is designed to showcase services, portfolio content, client testimonials, and my brand story in a professional manner. The site allows for appointment scheduling and direct communication with potential clients, and it is built with scalability in mind for future e-commerce features. Additionally, it is intended to strengthen my brand identity while improving search visibility through local SEO optimization.
Short-Term Goals (0–2 Years): In the short term, my primary objective is to ensure the website is fully optimized for mobile use. This includes employing responsive WordPress themes and testing user experience across various devices to maximize mobile engagement. To build a consistent and recognizable brand identity, the visual design will be aligned with my logo, color palette, and font choices. I will integrate my social media platforms directly into the site to drive traffic and credibility. Additionally, I plan to begin building an email list connecting to client forms using platforms like MicroBlading or Acuity Scheduling to foster client retention and automate some of my marketing efforts.
Intermediate Goals (3–5 Years): As I enter nursing school, I will be balancing the responsibilities of education and business ownership. To retain my web development skills, I will continue taking occasional tutorials and remain in contact with my course professor for support. Recognizing that my schedule will be limited, I will consider hiring a virtual assistant or freelance developer to manage website updates and maintenance. During this time, I also plan to launch a blog that connects beauty services with my evolving knowledge in healthcare, bridging both aspects of my career. Local SEO will be further enhanced through Google Business Profile optimization and targeted geo-tagging to attract a wider client base.
Long-Term Goals (5+ Years): Over the long term, as my company continues to grow and I transition more fully into aesthetic nursing, I intend to delegate full website management to a dedicated marketing team or a contracted web developer. This will allow me to concentrate on delivering services and expanding my business. I also plan to launch digital products such as beauty kits, aftercare materials, and downloadable guides to diversify income streams. Eventually, I envision adding community features such as consultation booking forms, client chat, or even a support forum. This site will serve as both a digital storefront and a portfolio, contributing to the credibility needed when launching a medical spa or related practice.
Strengths of the Website: The site provides complete ownership and creative control, giving me the flexibility to update and evolve content as needed. It offers strong adaptability for brand storytelling, improves visibility on search engines, and provides a scalable framework for future services and offerings.
Potential Challenges & Risks: There are several real-world challenges I may encounter. Balancing nursing school and business demands could result in limited time for website upkeep, which I will mitigate by delegating maintenance tasks. Technical issues like outdated plugins or broken links could arise but can be managed through reliable hosting services and periodic updates. There’s a risk of brand confusion as I straddle both beauty and healthcare roles, which will require clear messaging. Lastly, the temptation to overload the design with DIY elements may compromise the user experience, so I will seek feedback and draw inspiration from leading beauty websites.
Website Benefits vs. Drawbacks: The benefits of this website include enhanced professional credibility, increased visibility through Google search, centralized appointment booking, and the potential to expand into content and product sales. On the downside, maintaining a website independently requires consistent effort and technical knowledge. As my career transitions and time becomes more constrained, I will need to plan carefully to ensure the website remains functional and representative of my brand.
Final Notes: This professional website is both a branding tool and a strategic business asset. Though I serve as both client and developer in this project, I have treated the experience with the same diligence and professionalism expected in client work. With clear goals, realistic planning, and thoughtful delegation, this website will continue to serve as a reliable digital presence for my business as I grow into a licensed aesthetic nurse and successful entrepreneur.
